FAQ about Full Day Tours
4What time do full-day tours usually depart?
Departure times depend on the destination and distance. Maras & Moray departs around 8:00 am. Sacred Valley departs 7:00–8:00 am. Humantay Lake departs 4:00–4:30 am. Rainbow Mountain departs 4:30–5:00 am. Machu Picchu departures vary by train schedule — typically 5:30–6:00 am from Cusco or from Ollantaytambo. We pick you up at your hotel — no need to find a meeting point.
Are entrance fees included in full-day tour prices?
It depends on the specific tour. Our Machu Picchu and Huchuy Qosqo full-day tours include all entrance fees. Humantay Lake includes the community entrance fee ($8). Rainbow Mountain includes the community entrance fee. Maras & Moray includes the Maras salt mine entrance. Check your specific tour page for a complete inclusions list.
Can I book a full-day tour on the same day?
For most tours, 24-hour advance booking is sufficient. Rainbow Mountain and Humantay Lake can often be booked the day before. Machu Picchu requires advance booking of at least 2–3 weeks during peak season (June–September) due to daily visitor limits. Inca Trail permits require booking months in advance.
What happens if I get altitude sickness during a tour?
Our guides are trained in altitude sickness recognition and response. They carry supplemental oxygen and first-aid kits. If you show signs of serious altitude sickness (confusion, inability to walk straight, severe headache that doesn't respond to ibuprofen), the guide will arrange immediate descent to a lower altitude. We have a 24-hour emergency contact line. Prevention is key: acclimatize for 2 nights in Cusco before any high-altitude tour.
