About this activity

The Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco is the most direct route to the Wonder of the World: one long day that covers the 3-hour road transfer to Ollantaytambo, the 1.5-hour tourist train through the Urubamba Canyon cloud forest, the Consettur bus ascent to the citadel, a full 2-hour guided visit with a MINCETUR bilingual guide, free time at the site, and the return journey — back in Cusco by 22:45.

Everything is included in the single price: hotel pickup, transfer Cusco → Ollantaytambo, tourist train (round trip), Consettur bus (round trip), Machu Picchu Archaeological Park entrance ticket, and bilingual guide. The only extras are meals and optional train upgrades.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book last minute?

Machu Picchu entrance tickets have a daily capacity limit. For travel within 1–2 weeks, confirm availability by WhatsApp before booking. For peak season (June–August, Semana Santa, July 28–31), book at minimum 60–90 days in advance. Last-minute availability exists November–April outside holidays.

What circuit does this tour visit?

Circuit 2 (Classic Complete), subject to availability. Circuit 2 is the most complete route, covering the access terrace, agricultural sectors, Sacred Plaza, Intihuatana, Sun Tower, Temple of the Three Windows and Temple of the Condor. If Circuit 2 is sold out, we will offer Circuit 1 (shorter, partial circuit) or Circuit 3 at a possible additional cost — we notify you before processing.

Can I visit Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain?

Yes, at extra cost. Both require separate tickets purchased at the time of your Machu Picchu entrance booking — they cannot be added after the main ticket is purchased. Huayna Picchu tickets (limited to 400/day) sell out 6–12 months ahead in peak season. Inform us when booking if you want to add Huayna Picchu.

Is this tour non-refundable?

Yes. Once the train and Machu Picchu tickets are purchased, no refunds or changes are possible — this is the policy of both PeruRail/Inca Rail and the Machu Picchu ticket authority. We will notify you if your preferred date is unavailable before purchasing tickets. If tickets are confirmed and you must cancel, 0% refund applies.

What happens if it rains?

Machu Picchu operates in all weather conditions except official park closure (rare, only in extreme events). Rain during the visit is normal and manageable with a rain jacket. Morning mist and light rain actually create unique photographic conditions. We do not cancel for weather.

How long is the guided visit at Machu Picchu?

2 hours with a MINCETUR bilingual guide covering Circuit 2. After the guided tour, you have free time to explore independently until the return bus time. Total time at the citadel (from entrance to return bus): approximately 2.5–3.5 hours depending on your entry slot and return preferences.
